Just when you thought World of Warcraft couldn’t get more pervasive, it goes and escapes its electronic confines. Not to worry you, but the trading-card-game version of the frighteningly popular massively multiplayer online game invades the Austin Convention Center, April 27-29. Egad, hundreds have already registered to attend. Maybe it’s because admission is free (tournament entry fees range from $5 to $25), or maybe it’s because WoW is this generation’s Lawnmower Man. For those of you wanting to join the dark side, the maker of WoW, Blizzard Entertainment, is hiring customer-service representatives for in-game support. Allow me to loosely paraphrase the job listing: If you like to play online video games and can read, we’ll pay you to chat with frustrated gamers at our new support site in Austin. Tired of the rumors around Grand Theft Auto IV and Halo 3? Other, less-hyped upcoming games include Beaterator for PSP and Aqua Teen Hunger Force Zombie Ninja Pro-Am for PlayStation2.
