Like horror? Like metal? Like live-tweets? Then you better be ready to rock out against evil this Thursday, because the Austin Chronicle tweet-a-long title for this week is 2017 satanic shocker The Devil’s Candy.
A smash at Fantastic Fest 2015, the cranked-up horror stars Ethan Embry as a struggling artist who buys an old farm house as a place to raise his family and get his painting career back on track. But evil forces, and a homicidal former resident (Pruitt Taylor Vince), may have alternate plans …
OK, so it was technically shot in Williamson County, but can there be anything more Austin than a story about an artist/musician who buys a rambling, run-down shack in the middle of nowhere, just so they can hang and be creative and make as much mess and noise as they want without upsetting the neighbors.
So, it’s the same deal as always. This Thursday, at 8pm, we’ll be gathering the masses for a live tweet, lead by Chronicle screens editor Richard Whittaker @YorkshireTX.
Oh, and you better have your sound system cranked as high as you can stand, because this is an all-time metal soundtrack, with tracks from Pantera, Ghost, Slayer, Queens of the Stone Age, and of course Metallica, plus original scoring by stoner doomsters extraordinaire Sunn O))).
Follow along using the hashtags #NowStreamingInAustin or #DevilsCandy Just make sure you’re throwing up your best metal horns while you tweet!
