The centerpiece of the modern living room is the TV. It used to sit in the corner, a heavy box of static-laden potential, but now they hang from the wall like a piece of art. So doesn’t it make sense to surround your screen with images taken from your favorite shows?
Guzu Gallery has been channel-hopping for its latest show: Binge, opening tonight, is a celebration of some of your favorite TV shows through prints and original artwork.
In the run-up to Christmas, 26 artists have been as busy as Santa’s elves to craft the finest representations of this new golden age of TV, with prints and originals for shows as wide, wild, and diverse as The Good Place, HBO’s Kidding, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Pee-Wee’s Playhouse, and many more.
The exhibition will run through Jan. 7. However, if you can’t make it to the North Lamar show before then, all prints and originals (plus art from earlier shows) will be available starting Dec. 12 at guzugallery.storenvy.com.
Guzu Gallery presents “Binge: An Art Show Inspired by Television.” Guzu Gallery, 5000 N. Lamar, Dec. 7–Jan. 7. Opening reception, Fri., Dec. 7, 7-10pm. RSVP at Facebook.
