Adam Green and Joe Lynch are one step short of becoming honorary Austinites. So when the studios distributing their latest films said they could have one double bill, it made sense they would pick the Alamo South Lamar, and record their Movie Crypt podcast on the same night.
Back on March 11, the pair met up to screen their respective latest releases. For both projects, it was a kind of homecoming. Lynch had debuted his action thriller Everly at Fantastic Fest, while this was the third local screening for Green’s Digging Up the Marrow, after its Butt-Numb-a-thon debut in 2013, and his roadtrip last month.
However, this was the first time they’d recorded their podcast here, and the evening included listener mail (well, audience questions), a Q&A, and an interview with none other than Drafthouse head honcho Tim League, including a story about the Magnited States PSA you’ve probably never heard before.
