It’s still membership drive time at KOOP Community Radio, which means we have a slightly abbreviated show this week, but boy do we cram a lot into it.

Up first: Chronicle staff writer Austin Sanders expands on his news feature this week about AISD’s proposals for the future of the school district, which include up to 12 school closures, almost all on the east side of Austin. Then Arts & Culture Editor Robert Faires joins us to discuss the new “Michael Ray Charles” exhibit at Umlauf Sculpture Garden and Museum, the acclaimed artist’s first solo show in the U.S. in 18 years.

For commercial reasons, we had to remove our exit music from this web rebroadcast – “The Story of an Artist” by beloved singer-songwriter Daniel Johnston, who passed away suddenly this week. Scroll down to hear the song in its entirety.
