Just because high schoolers aren’t old enough to vote, that doesn’t mean they’re not interested or engaged in the political process. With registration for the March 6 primary closing today, students from around the region have recorded PSAs to get the word out.

Students from multiple Austin ISD campuses (including Anderson, Austin, Bowie, and McCallum high schools, and Lanier Early College Prep), Eanes, Manor, and Pflugerville ISDs, plus the Headwaters School and Sci-Tech Prep charter, all took part in the YouthCam competition launched by the Travis County tax office as a way to get the date to as many people as possible.

Now the winners are all online at the Travis County Tax Office YouTube channel, but here are a few of the winning entries:

There is still time to register: either in person at the tax office, or by mail as long as the envelope is postmarked with today’s date, Feb. 5. More details, including where to pick up a registration form, at www.tax-office.traviscountytx.gov/voters/voter-registration.
