We asked for photos of the most dangerous or poorly maintained sidewalks in Austin, and you sent them. @CapMetroBlues tweeted us this image of a spot well known to Hyde Park residents: the northeast corner of 45th and Duval, right next to two apartment complexes and a convenience store. Between the sloping concrete, the utility pole, and the temporary gravel patch that’s been there about five years and counting, this one crams a lot of fail into a tiny space.

Got your own neighborhood nightmare? Send your photos to sidewalkfail@austinchronicle.com, tag Austin Chronicle on Facebook, or use the hashtag #sidewalkfail on Twitter. The best/worst are posted at austinchronicle.com/sidewalk-fail: There’s a photo gallery, and a full, interactive map, so you can see exactly where you shouldn’t be walking in your own neighborhood.
