There are precious few public events to notice this week, so I’m happy to pass on this space to the run-off election results. But first: a brief apology for the premature “hooray” last week for the announced agreement on the Grove at Shoal Creek PUD. Now, with at least three council members on record as unhappy with the affordable housing component of the plan, a fourth who founded the neighborhood group involved in the agreement, and a dramatic regime change pending in District 10 (see above), it seems highly unlikely Council will have the bandwidth to even contemplate the Grove in today’s last meeting of the year (see “Council: From Kitty Hawk to Hornsby Bend,” Dec. 15). Let’s all start up again in January?
