Farewell PinkDome, Hello (Still) Austin Political Report

Sad news for the online policy wonk community of Texas: acid-tongued commentators PinkDome.com have announced that the blog has come to an end. In the true spirit of such political commentators, back far beyond Boz, the blogger(s) remained anonymous to the end. On a completely unrelated note, some guy called Charlie Ray now has a blog over at KXAN. Just mentioning, is all.

However, that doesn’t mean that all the local political blogs are disappearing. Some even seem to be digging in for the long legal fight. Yes, even though former state representative and Tom Craddick apparatchik Terry Keel has issued a criminal complaint in the district attorney’s race about local political activist and Rosemary Lehmberg campaign operative Kelly Fero, his well-sourced online rumor mill, AustinPoliticalReport.com, is still going. Fero ran a story that Keel was a secret Mindy Montford booster, and apparently the allegation was a damaging and insulting lie (we’re not clear whether the insult was to Montford or Keel) that violates state campaign laws. Fero has stood by his story, and as of 8:42am Tuesday, there are still no new postings to his site.
