Our own editor Kate Messer, who is traveling with Mobile Loaves and Fishes to the coast, just called in to say that the charity convoy has set up camp with the Red Cross at Bayou Vista and is now handing out food at the junction of State Highway 6 and I-45.

They have two catering trucks with sustaining food like sandwiches, chips, peanut butter and boiled eggs, plus ice drinks, actual ice, and a fuel cell.

If you know people in the area, spread the word that they’ll be handing out food until they run out.
