Does ANYONE really understand how the Democrat’s monstrously complicated Texas Two-Step presidential delegate nomination process worked out? Really? That’ll be a nope, then.

After wading through the primary, the precinct caucus, and the county convention, there’s still no absolute clarity on which Democratic presidential contender takes Texas. Now there’s the complicating factor of the ‘at large’ delegates from the county conventions, which even the party apparatchiks weren’t sure if they were part of the numbers returned on Saturday. Now Leslie Pool, who was Clinton nominations committee chair for Travis County Senate District 14, attempts to clarify. “The reason why the at-large delegates are apportioned from the party conventions is to balance out the people on the floor. You can’t get a portion of a person,” she explained.

In SD-14, the Clinton campaign got 48 ‘at large’ and 14 alternates on top of the 144 she already took, while Obama added 27 ‘at large’ and 60 alternates to his 313. Or maybe now it will just be settled with a dance-off.
