Speaker Craddick: Is there still time to fit Barrett on the House Secret Santa list?

So after Dan Barrett became Rep. Dan Barrett, D-Fort Worth, last night, he got the traditional “welcome to the clubhouse” email from Tom Craddick.

“Speaker Craddick congratulates Dan Barrett on his special election victory, and he welcomes him into the Texas House of Representatives.”

Which was nice of him and not at all awkward, especially since arch anti-Craddickite Rep. Jim Keffer, R-Eastland, put out his congratulatory press release this morning, positively giddy that Craddick man (and, let’s not forget, Keffer’s party mate) Mark M. Shelton turned retired GOPer Anna Mowery’s 15-point majority into a 4-point loss (see this morning’s post and tomorrow’s edition of the Chronicle for more coverage.)
