AISD: Your bond consultation process needs you!

There have been repeated complaints that Austin ISD’s bond proposal has been rushed, and there hasn’t been enough public consultation. Now there’s more opportunities for input, as the Board of Trustees will hold three nights of public hearings.

Feb. 11, 6pm: Special meeting, with additional comment during citizen’s communication being heard at 9pm.
Feb. 12, 7pm: Special public hearing.
Feb. 18, 7pm: Final public hearing.

All hearings will be held at the Carruth Administration Center, 1111 W. Sixth.

These meetings should satisfy some of complaints that the process hasn’t been open enough to voices other than district staff and the Citizens Bond Advisory Committee. But, then again, it’s only three meetings, it’s relatively short notice, and Superintendent Pascal D. Forgione looks to be trying to add another $40 million to the CBAC wish-list to get the district-wide performing arts center funded.
