Sens. Barack Obama and John McCain seem unlikely to campaign in Texas again before Nov. 4, and even Ralph Nader has said he won’t be back before Election Day, but at least one presidential hopeful hasn’t given up on courting the Lone Star electorate. Green Party candidate Cynthia McKinney and her running mate, Rosa Clemente, start their two-day Tejas Tour in Galveston Oct. 30 to survey damage wrought by Hurricane Ike (back when she was a Democratic member of the U.S. Congress for Georgia, McKinney was a vocal critic of the handling of the Hurricane Katrina response). They then travel to San Antonio and Houston and finish up in Plano on Oct. 31. No Austin event is planned.
