Sunday's Human Race Route.

Unless you’ve got good reasons to go Downtown this weekend, then find good reasons to avoid driving there.

As of 6pm Friday night, 11th between Brazos and Lavaca is closed for building the staging area for the local leg of Sunday night’s Nike-sponsored The Human Race 10K (buses are already on diversion.) Then there will be the normal game day chaos today around the UT Campus when the Longhorns face off Saturday afternoon against Florida Atlantic, including the complete closure of 17th between San Jacinto and Trinity, and 18th between San Jacinto and Brazos. Meanwhile, all day Saturday and Sunday, the First Street Bridge will be closed for Batfest.

It gets even more complex Sunday afternoon: The entire area from Guadalupe to Red River, and Dean Keeton to Cesar Chavez (that’s the whole of downtown and the UT campus) will be closed from 4pm for the Nike race: which means people attending the Pat Green concert at Waterloo Park will need to start early and expect to walk.

Oh, and then Monday morning until noon, Cesar Chavez from Mopac to Congress, the First Street Bridge, and Riverside from S. Lamar to Congress will also be shut.

Check the city’s full closure guide here.
