Local homeless charity Mobile Loaves & Fishes is looking for volunteers and contribution for a relief trip they are planning to the Gulf Coast to help people hit by Hurricane Ike who are currently without food or water.
The charity needs donations, plus cases of bottled water, gently used clean ice chests, and toiletries, but what they really need is volunteers. They need a dozen people to help run the food and logistics trucks (they stress this is not an overnight trip or a sleep-over), plus extra people to make food.
Volunteers should meet at the St. John Neumann Commissary, 903 South Capital of Texas Highway, at 2pm, Sunday, Sept. 14. See below for full press release.
