Talk to the hand!

It’s official – Responsible Growth for Northcross communications director and Chronic commenters’ favorite Jason Meeker has filed the Place 1 papers to challenge Lee Leffingwell for his City Council seat this May.

“I am running not just because of what Wal-Mart wants to do to my neighborhood,” Meeker tells Newsdesk. “I’m running because these kinds of things keep happening all over Austin.”

Meeker’s kicking off his campaign tomorrow at Zinger Hardware on Anderson Lane, across from the mall that started it all, at 11:30am. He’s also got a website, www.jasonforaustin.com, and a nifty campaign logo, to the right. (Personally, I’m agnostic on the hand – why not go for the gusto with the middle finger?)
