This election is driving us to drink

In the primaries it was cookies. Now it’s beer.

The Flying Saucer bar chain (the local version of which is located in the Triangle, where Lamar and Guadalupe come together) wants to know where you stand on presidential politics. Beginning Sept. 3 at 7pm, they’ll be selling Obama and McCain pint glasses. Each sale counts as a “vote,” and votes will be tallied until Election Night (Nov. 4).

Please note: This form of voting does not excuse you from doing your duty as a citizen and casting a real vote.

(We wonder: If you pay in Liberty Dollars, will they give you a Bob Barr glass?)

(We also wonder: Why does the Obama caricature appear to be wearing lipstick?)
