Tomorrow is Pro-Life Lobby Day down at the Lege. (Sadly, a brief effort by Newsdesk to have it renamed Zygotes First! Day seems to have gone nowhere.)
In what could be seen as an outreach to those all-important evangelical and conservative primary voters before 2010, Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst will be stopping by to find some space on Sen. Dan Patrick‘s anti-abortion platform. Dewhurst will be speaking out in favor of the Houston Republican’s Senate Bill 182 and its House counterpart, House Bill 36 by Rep. Frank Corte, R-San Antonio. That’s the bill that “would require all women considering abortion be offered an ultrasound image of their unborn child and the opportunity to hear its heartbeat prior to receiving an abortion.”
Well, suppose it’s nicer than having placard-waving zealots yelling “whore” at women outside of Ob/Gyns, which is the current way of scaring them off.
