Some quick hits from the trail to the ballot box:

With over half of all registered voters in Travis County having voted early, meaningful results should be in not much after 7pm for a lot of local races. That should be especially true in House District 47 (Democrat Rep. Valinda Bolton challenged by Republican Donna Keel) where over 60% of locals voted early. Turn-out is expected to reach 85%, so there are few votes left in play.

Contrary to the idea that the Dems are coasting on the last day, the Travis County Democratic Party still has about 250 volunteers at its combined office, plus 30 to 40 teams in the field getting out the vote.

KXAN is reporting polling that shows that Prop. 2 (the SDS charter amendment) is going down badly, with only 35% of respondents saying they supported it.

How worried are Republicans about HD-52? Since filing the eight-day reports, Speaker Tom Craddick‘s Stars over Texas PAC has dropped $100,000 into Bryan Daniel’s campaign.
