An icy wind, a little bit of rain, and guess what? Schools and local government across Travis County are delaying opening again this morning.

Schools

Austin ISD is on a two hour delay (call the transportation department at 512-414-0238 if you have any concerns about bus schedules.) The good news is that staff and students will be excused tardies for bad weather.

Also on a two hour delay: Eanes, Lake Travis, Leander, Manor, Pflugerville and Round Rock. Round Rock has even posted a list of grade-by-grade start times.

However, it’s a normal start time in Del Valle. So you should probably be there already.

As for higher ed, Austin Community College, Concordia‘s Austin campus, Huston-Tillotson, and Texas State, are all closed until 10am.

UT Austin has also cancelled classes until 10am, but one bit of good news for harried students: The guards made it in to the Perry-Castañeda Library, so at least the building is open.

However, Southwestern University and St. Edwards are open as per normal.

Local and State Government

Minor delays for the city of Austin and Travis County. Both will delay the opening of all non-essential offices until 10am.

Roads and Transportation

Capital Metro is running as per normal, except for UT Shuttle Buses, which won’t start their service until 9am.

No problems yet at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport but, as always, if you are heading out, be extra-careful on all roads. Check their website or follow @AUStinAirport on Twitter for updated details.
