Pres. Bush: No resolution today

So anyone watching Countdown with Keith Olbermann last night may have noticed that the Texas House of Representatives made it on the show. No, not as the worst persons in the world, but as part of the Still Bushed! segment, and it was all because of a resolution.

Reps. Charles “Doc” Anderson, R-Waco, and Sid Miller, R-Stephenville, are behind House Concurrent Resolution 62, which took great time to praise the works of one George W. Bush and how he spent the last eight years doing a bang-up job (funnily enough, the word ‘Iraq’ doesn’t turn up in there, but Iran is mentioned. Funny, that.)

What Olbermann did not note was that they also authored HCR 63, praising Laura Bush for her work on literacy, AIDS awareness and cancer research.

So what happened yesterday? Both resolutions were placed on the Congratulatory and Memorial Calendar for March 12. HCR 63, praising the former first lady, was adopted by the House. HCR 62, praising the former president? Withdrawn. Intriguing.
