Alt.country might be losing out to the more traditional, but local fourpiece Stickpony follows in the footsteps of the Old 97’s to create loose and galloping countrified jams. Catchy and familiar, their fourth release jumps from beer ad opener “Dime Droppers” straight to the addictive “White Picket Fences” and “Best Liquor Store.” Keep it up, boys. String bands ain’t for everyone.
