They’re doing it safely – for whatever value of “safely” can be achieved, that is – by following new protocols and procedures above and beyond the government requirements.
Because when the government can’t lead effectively, we’ll add, it’s up to people to more effectively lead themselves. And because Tyson Cole and Aaron Franklin didn’t get where they did with Uchi and Franklin BBQ, respectively, by fucking around with ineffective bullshit. Which admirable lack of tolerance for nonsense is what brought us LORO in the first place.
Okay, now we’ll step off that soapbox and strap on the feedbag – aren’t metaphors delightful? – because LORO, the Asian smokehouse and bar from James Beard Award-winners Cole and Franklin, now (carefully) reopens its popular South Lamar location with a menu of grilled and smoked meats, sides, craft beer, and batch cocktails.
The restaurant will be open for limited seating Sun.-Thu, 11:30am-9pm, and Fri.-Sat., 11:30am-10pm – and you can make your reservations right here, citizen.
Note: Huzzah!
But also, LORO’s excellent curbside pickup and delivery service will continue, including that Sunday-and-Monday Rib Dinner for Two they’ve been running, because that’s the new paradigm we’re all dealing with. And, you know? A paradigm that contains the possibility of rib dinners … is always that much less harsh of a paradigm than it could be.
