Thomas, who has worked at Le Bernardin, Devi NYC, and most recently Austin’s Chaat Shop, created the menu in collaboration with sourcing specialist Valerie Broussard. The offerings will draw heavily from local produce, sustainably sourced seafood, and all-natural poultry and meat.
Clayton & Little Architects, working with landscape architecture firm Mark Word Design, and interior designer Joel Mozersky have worked to restore the property, but the Victorian porch, live oak trees, and peacocks will still be part of the character. In addition to the dining room, Mattie’s features four event spaces: Marion Hall, the Mezzanine, a private dining room, and a new outdoor pavilion.
The Faulk, a boutique hotel on the grounds, is set to open in 2018.
