News of the first confirmed Hurricane Ike-related cancellation in Austin: Education union Texas AFT was planning to hold its statewide testing forum on Friday at the First United Methodist Church Family Life Center. This just in:

Due to concerns over Central Texas weather this weekend and possible travel problems with attendees from around the state, *we are rescheduling the Texas AFT Testing Forum to October 3* (Same location).

If Ike continues to track towards the Texas coast, more cancellations (especially for statewide events) seem likely.
