    Second Saturdays Are for Families

    A day of inspiration and activity awaits, all inspired by Carol Bove's sculpture From the Sun to Zurich, found at the beautiful Laguna Gloria. Work together to use cylindrical objects for creations like the sculpture, and join a mini yoga class led by children’s yoga instructor (and copyeditor for the Contemporary) Elvia Padilla, offered at 11:30am, 12:30pm, and 1:30pm.

    Calling all mini Monets! Registration is now open for afterschool and weekend art classes with professional artist and educator Amanda Jones, teaching students ages 8-18. Professional illustrator Carly Dennis also offers a special weekly class for younger artists.

    Easter Bunny Photos at Barton Creek Square

    Find the Bunny Photo Experience in the mall near Cheesecake Factory to get pics with the Easter Bunny. Bring pets along Sun., March 19, 6-8pm, where the Austin Humane Society will get part of the proceeds and will bring adoptable kittens. Kids with special needs are welcome for a sensory-friendly experience Sun., March 26, 10-11:30am.

    Emergency Preparedness Calendar Contest

    The city's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management will feature student artwork in the 2024 Emergency Preparedness Calendar. Central Texas students in kindergarten through eighth grade are invited to create art to be considered for the calendar, which will be distributed at libraries and available for download online.
