Austin's Glass Half Full Theatre presents its award-winning “story within a story” using puppetry, performed in Spanish and English. Featuring Madison Palomo as Belinda, who – when she confronts her stepmother and stepsisters – learns to embrace her love of poetry and stand up for herself. This captivating bilingual Cinderella story is recommended for ages five and older.

Celebrate shelter pets with an all-out trivia battle royal with purr-plexing questions. You’ll also meet furry friends from the shelter and compete for prizes from sponsors. Be sure to wear your best animal-themed accessory or show off your pet's favorite human-themed accessory.

For a paw-some summer, register your li'l animal lover for AHS's virtual, hands-on educational sessions, including live shelter tours, dog walks, storytime with shelter pets, crafts, and dance sessions. It's all free, and supplies are provided via pickup or you can get a supply list online. Graduation is Aug. 6-7 and comes with a certificate and swag bag.

Cyclists can clip in and navigate the Circuit at Bike Night powered by Ascension Seton. The weekly event lets riders cruise COTA’s famed stars and stripes in a stress-free environment without the worry of city traffic while offering fantastic sunset views of the COTA’s signature Observation Deck and Austin skyline. After the ride concludes, cyclists can replenish and recharge with an ice-cold drink, mouth-watering refreshments and great conversations and camaraderie with fellow riders.

Ben McReynolds has donated his extensive and unique collection to the museum. It will be on view for a year along with the permanent collection that includes artifacts from La Belle, the French ship discovered in Matagorda Bay; the story of ranching on the coast; and more than 13,000 years of Texas history.

This powerful show, a traveling exhibition organized by the New-York Historical Society, explores the transformative years after the Civil War and the rise of Jim Crow, centering on stories of African Americans who pursued the ideals of Reconstruction and persevered in the face of a developing legal system promoting racial inequality.

Organized types will have fun volunteering to help Austin Creative Reuse sort through donated items, roll fabric, and detangle yarn. Registration required.
