Disgracefully, due to an editing error, Slayer guitarist Jeff Hanneman was identified as playing bass in last week’s review of hellacious new album Christ Illusion (Vol. 25, No. 53). Said editor apologizes to writer Marc Savlov, an old-school Slayer faithful, and regrets the error.

Last week’s caption for the main photo in “Naked City” said Hurricane Katrina’s one-year anniversary is Sept. 29. The anniversary was actually Aug. 29. The Chronicle regrets the error.
