Friday’s announcement by the State Preservation Board that they will be undertaking major renovations on the Texas Capitol means that the dome will be obscured by scaffolding for much of 2010. It did, however, mean a rare trip for the press corps into some parts of the dome that the general public doesn’t get to see.
