That's not the only attraction on the agenda. The Chronicle's own Wayne Alan Brenner will be moderating a Q&A with Alex Robinson (Box Office Poison, Too Cool to Be Forgotten) after a talk with Scary Godmother creator Jill Thompson There are also two dealer rooms packed with local artists (including Neulander's long-time collaborator Tim Doyle), visiting small press guests like Monica Gallagher (creator of roller derby comic Bonnie N. Collide, Nine to Five), and big names like James O'Barr.
The creator of The Crow helps explain why this is called a media expo and not a comic convention: His latest work, Sundown is a piece of digital storytelling. He described it as a "Gothic Spaghetti Western. It very much has a Sergio Leone look to it, so I'm painting it all in these wide Panavision panels." The first chapter, 'White Birch,' will be available through Motionworks Entertainment in March for Android, iPhone and iPad.
