No, no, no, wrong guy. The man for whom Mike A. Myers Stadium & Soccer Field is named is no International Man of Mystery. He’s just a typical UT donor — some old white guy with a lot of bucks. This Mike Myers lives in Dallas, is 62 years old, and a developer of swank neighborhoods surrounding golf courses. He got his undergrad degree in business at UT in 1959 and a law degree in 1963.

He is also reportedly a big track & field fan, as evidenced by the $3 million he contributed toward completion of the stadium. He never ran for UT, but he did the quarter mile in high school and at small colleges prior to his years in Austin.

So don’t look for some secret agent with bad teeth up in the stands, and no, you probably won’t see Elizabeth Hurley on his arm, either. — L.N.
