Strolling is a lot like drinking good home brew from a keg; once you start, it’s hard to stop. Walk around your own neighborhood and you’ll be surprised by the details you missed while driving or even biking. Other great strolling spots include:

The Wildflower Research Center

4801 La Crosse Avenue, 292-4100, admission fee.
The tended gardens inside the wall are dazzling, but some of the more meditative strolls are along the wilder meadow trail and creekside trail. The Texas
State Cemetery

The restoration of the final resting place of confederate soldiers and distinguished Texans was completed this year. State Road Spur165, the shortest highway in Texas at a mere eight-tenths of a mile, runs through the cemetery.

Botanical Gardens
