On Monday morning, for the second consecutive week, J’Covan Brown (pictured) was selected as the Big 12 Conference Player of the Week. On Monday night in East Rutherford, N.J., with just more than 9 minutes remaining, he committed a costly technical foul (his fifth personal foul) forcing his ejection from the game. Brown’s absence on the court opened the door for North Carolina State to take control of the game, picking up the 77-74 win over the Horns. Brown (who is averaging 26.3 points, 7.5 assists, and 4.8 boards through four games) will certainly learn from this mistake and hopefully take out his frustration on UT’s opponents and not the refs this weekend at the Erwin Center. Vs. Sam Houston State: Sat., Nov. 26, 7pm. Vs. North Texas: Tue., Nov. 29, 7pm. Frank Erwin Center, 1701 Red River. $8-40.
