The University of Texas baseball team will make a brief pit stop at Disch-Falk Field on Tuesday, March 28, 6pm, against the Houston Baptist Huskies in the midst of a road trip which includes three games at Minute Maid Park as part of the Houston College Classic. The 2-2 Horns dropped the final game of their three-game season-opening rainy home series against Duke and then lost to UT-Arlington (!) 7-5 Tuesday – although only three of UT-Arlington’s seven runs were earned. We’ll attribute the slow start to early season jitters. Statistical leaders after just four games include outfielder Mark Payton (.538 ave., 1.000 slugging, .684 OBP) second baseman Brooks Marlow (2 HRs, 4 RBIs, .750 slugging), and starting pitcher Nathan Thornhill (1-0, 0.00 ERA in five innings pitched, .176 ave. against).

Vs. Houston Baptist: Tue., Feb. 28, 6pm. UFCU Disch-Falk Field, 1300 E. MLK. $12, reserved; $7, adults; $5, youth. www.texassports.com.
