Texas guards D.J. Augustin and A.J. Abrams are on a midseason list of the 30 most likely candidates to win the coveted Naismith Trophy.

Both were on the preseason list of 50 possible candidates, which was narrowed after the Atlanta Tipoff Club, which sponsors the award, saw the players perform through the first half of the season.

Augustin and Abrams are second and third in the Big 12 in scoring, respectively. Augustin, a sophomore, leads the conference in assists (5.9 per game) while Abrams, a junior, leads the league in three-pointers per game (3.06).

Augustin also made the cut for the Wooden Award’s midseason list based on his stats through Texas’ first 19 games.
