If you haven’t had the chance to catch the Austin Turfcats in their inaugural season, it’s not too late. They’ll be hosting the Acadiana Mudbugs Sat., July 18, 6:30pm, at the Travis County Expo Center in an SIFL semifinal playoff matchup. The Turfcats finished the year with a 9-2 record which was good enough for second place while the 6-5 Mudbugs finished in third. The winner of this game will face either the Houma Conquerors or the Louisiana Swashbucklers in the 2009 SIFL Championship. Maybe the ‘Cats can follow the Houston Dyanmo’s lead by winning their league’s championship in their first year of existence. Ticket prices are $25 for lower level seats, $10 for mid-level, and $5 for upper-level. Five bucks for a playoff game? What a deal. If for some reason you are homebound or afraid to venture out in the 100-plus heat, they’ll be streaming the game live on Turfcats.com.
