Hockey legend (and current Dallas Stars co-general manager) Brett Hull announced on Wednesday that Scott White is the Texas Stars Hockey Club’s first-ever general manager. The Stars are set to drop the puck in the Cedar Park Center starting in 2009.
Hull had the following to say about White, “The Dallas Stars have a solid history with Scott White and congratulate him on his new role with the Texas Stars Hockey Club. We are very excited that he will be overseeing the hockey side of our primary development affiliate for the Dallas Stars.”
White is currently the director of minor league hockey operations for the Dallas Stars, joining the Stars organization after four seasons as head coach of the Columbia Inferno of the ECHL, was an assistant coach with the Greensboro Monarchs (also of the ECHL) for a season and a half, and was assistant coach at his alma mater, Michigan Tech University, from 1989-1994.
“I am truly fortunate to accept the position of the first general manager of the Texas Stars Hockey Club,” said White. “This is a great opportunity to see this team and new event center grow and become a success in the city of Cedar Park.”
