The St. Edward’s women (9-1-1 on the season) play their last three home games of 2011 hosting UT-Permian Basin (Thursday, Oct. 13, 4pm), Newman (Saturday, Oct. 15, 1pm), and Dallas Baptist (Saturday, Oct. 22, 1pm) on the St. Ed’s campus on South Congress… The Longhorns are on the road this week at Oklahoma State and Texas Tech after shutting out the Oklahoma Sooners last Friday and losing a nonconference game to San Diego State 1-0 on Sunday.

With this past week’s international break over (Euro2012 qualifying, World Cup qualifying on three continents, lots of exhibitions including the U.S. men losing 1-0 to Ecua­dor), league play takes center stage again in Europe and in Major League Soccer, where seven playoff spots are still to be decided, with just a couple of weeks left in the season… The European Champions League resumes Oct. 18-19; FSC will show Manchester United’s game on Tuesday and Marseille vs. Arsenal on Wednesday, both at 1:30pm.

No real news this week out of the Austin Aztex camp, though rumors continue to circulate about both a head coach and a stadium (familiar names in both cases, but nothing fully set yet on either front).
