Real Salt Lake is playing at Monterrey in the CONCACAF Champions League final as we go to press – trying to become the first MLS team ever to win the continental championship and qualify for the Club World Cup. The return leg is in Salt Lake City next Wednesday, April 27, 9pm, live on Fox Soccer Channel.

European Champions League semifinals start this week: Schalke vs. Manchester United is live on FSC Tuesday, April 26, 1:30pm. The Real Madrid vs. Barcelona game Wednesday is on delay only; on FSC at 7pm. The return legs are May 3-4. That’ll be a clasico rubber match; Barca’s dominated the league all year, but Madrid beat them in the Copa del Rey final Wed­nesday to earn some bragging rights. Now we see if Barca’s the best team ever, or just the second-best team in Spain this year.

Congratulations to the Cedar Park Vista Ridge girls and the Round Rock McNeil boys, each runners-up at last week’s state high school championships.
