Well it’s that time of year: more going on than I can fit in this column. European Champions League quarterfinals were the headline action midweek, Liverpool just about clinched their spot in the semifinals, and other results set up some very interesting return-leg matchups for next week. The results:
Tuesday: PSV Eindhoven 0, Liverpool 3(!); AC Milan 2, Bayern Munich 2
Wednesday: Roma 2, Manchester United 1; Valencia 1, Chelsea 1
The return legs are next Tuesday-Wednesday, April 10-11, 1:30pm; all games will be shown live on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes.
Houston Dynamo are in Pachuca tonight (Thursday, April 5, 8:30pm, live on Fox Soccer Channel) in the second leg of their CONCACAF Champions Cup semifinal, trying to defend a 2-0 lead from the first leg in Houston. The winner meets Chivas Guadalajara, who edged DC United in the other semi; just three days later, the Dynamo kick off the defense of their MLS Championship, hosting the L.A. Galaxy on Sunday, April 8, at 6pm; www.houstondynamo.com for info.

The Travis High boys, AISD’s last entry, bowed out in the regional semifinals.
