European Champions League quarterfinals were decided this week to set up a pair of contrasting semifinals in two weeks. On one side, Villarreal and Arsenal, each well down in the standings in their own leagues, rather easily handled Italian powers Inter Milan and Juventus, respectively. The other side matches Ronaldinho and Barcelona, probably the best team on the continent over the past couple of years, against AC Milan, who’ll be in the final four for the third time in four years but needed two dramatic goals in the last five minutes to get there past French champs Lyon.
