The Austin Lightning ended their season last weekend with a pair of losses; they needed two wins to make the playoffs.

The U.S. got a number of key saves from Kasey Keller, including a spectacular diving stop in the penalty kick shoot-out, to win the CONCACAF Gold Cup tournament on Sunday. The bad news: The Americans, ranked sixth in the world, suffered a number of key injuries during the tournament, and will have to regroup quickly, with World Cup qualifying starting up again in less than a month.
