DJ Frodo? Turns out that Hooligans – something of a sleeper about the ultraviolent fan subculture surrounding East London’s West Ham United – is one of the surprise hits of the SXSW Film Fest, drawing a rave on Ain’t It Cool News, a standing ovation at its world-premiere screening at the Alamo Downtown, and an around-the-block line for the post-screening party, deejayed by co-star Elijah Wood, in his first outing since Lord of the Rings. The movie plays once more at SXSW: 10pm, Friday, March 18, at the new Alamo South.

Here’s a rare chance: MLS in Austin. The final game of the MLS preseason – Colorado Rapids vs. Dallas Burn – will be played at Nelson Field (Reagan High) on Saturday, March 26 at 7pm. Advance tickets are $15 at Soccer World/Soccer USA. $20 at the door.
