The University of Texas’ women’s softball team has their work cut out for them as they host the National Pro Fastpitch All-Stars in an exhibition game at McCombs Field on Sunday. The All-Stars boast former UT standouts Cat Osterman, Megan Willis, and Loryn Johnson. Osterman is one of the most well-known fastpitch softball players not only in Central Texas but the world. She has appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated twice (she was the first softball player ever featured on the cover), won gold and silver medals in the Olympics, and has four Big XII Pitcher of the Year awards. She is coming off back-to-back NPF Championships with the Rockford Thunder in 2009 and USSSA Florida Pride in 2010, while the Horns are hoping to build on their Big XII championship last season.
