The changes keep coming for the Round Rock Express. They revealed their new logo today and I have to say I’m a fan of the “primary mark.” They’ve also kept their classic double-R “secondary mark” and have come up with a new “E” logo I’m less a fan of.

The colors remain red and blue with the blue being changed to “a brighter royal blue” to match that of new affiliate, the Texas Rangers, and the red will remain identical to previous years.

“We worked hard to keep some of our traditional elements while tying the past to the future,” Ryan Sanders Baseball owner Reid Ryan said. “We have honored our traditions from the past but also pushed forward in a new direction. Given our new affiliation with the Rangers, it was important to us to align ourselves with their color scheme.”

Merch with the new look is available now at their website.

The Texas Rangers will make a visit to the Dell Diamond for an exhibition game against the Express March 30, 2011, 6:30pm. Round Rock’s regular season begins April 7, 2011, at home with games against against the Iowa Cubs and Omaha Storm Chasers.
