The 2010-11 Capital City Dancers

The Capital City Dance Team, a very genuine group of dancing experts, are holding open auditions for their upcoming team. The official dance team of the Austin Toros, the CCDT audition will take place from Aug. 27 to Aug. 30. It’s definitely going to take the heart of a champion to win a spot on this year’s team, and I wish all with interest my best of luck.

The final round of the auditions will take place on Aug. 30 at 7pm, and will be open to the public with free admission.

Some restrictions apply: Must be 18 and high school graduate (sorry too-young dancers), must attend all rehearsals and games (no flakes), must transport one’s self with one’s own means (nobody from the Toros is picking you up), participants will be judged on technique, dance style, showmanship, and physical and personal appearance (that’s life in the fast lane, dancer style). All applications (available at www.austintoros.com) must include a 5×7 full-body picture. One in which you are posing in a professional dancer style is probably better than a personal one from vacation or the weekend party shots. Appropriate attire is explained on the application.

You can register now (it costs $25, $35 day of). Please call the Toros office with questions. They will guide you toward your dreams. 512/236-8333. There’s also a website with information.
