Skeeze Louise

We all know Roller Derby was revived here in the ATX, but did you know we’re also the birthplace of the nation’s first competitive Skee-Ball league? No surprise there. Austin is one of five cities in a national Brewskee-ball league, with the local chapter primed to start its ninth “skeeson” Sept. 11. Come out and roll for free all night Sept. 7 during the registration party/newcomer orientation, and sign up your three-person team for the skeeson (games played Sundays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays). Teams can sign up as late as the fourth week of the eight-week skeeson, which concludes with the playoffs and then the grand finale, the Brewskee Mug Tournament. All rollers welcome. Registration/orientation party: Wed., Sept. 7, 7pm. The Scoot Inn, 1308 E. Fourth, 524-1932. Free. League play: $20 per member for a team of three including league shirts. www.brewskeeball.com.
