You know we love our mascots here at the Score so we’d like to encourage our readers to vote for their favorite Austin high school mascot in the Austin Mascot Challenge. The finalists are Akie the Eagle, Akins High School; Mr. Maroo, Stephen F. Austin High School; Bella the Bulldog, Bowie High School; Victor the Viking, Lago Vista High School; Big Blue, Pflugerville High School; and Top Cat the Tiger, Stony Point High School.

Fans have until Friday at 5pm to get their vote in. The winner will be announced at a pep rally at Barton Creek Square Mall (theatre and food court wing) this Sat., Oct. 20, noon. Capital One is sponsoring the event and will be awarding the winner a grand prize of $5,000 to be donated to their school’s athletic department. Each mascot will also receive a $200 scholarship.
