What screams summer more than a pool party? Nothing, that’s what! The Metropolis Apartments know that and are hosting First Day of Summer Fest, a leasing event and pool party to celebrate the official opening of their new outdoor lounge and activities area on Saturday June 21!

Whether you’re a seasoned Austinite or a new transfer, you won’t want to miss this exciting display of Austin pride.

The party will double as a way to introduce prospective residents to all of The Met’s offerings. Beginning at 2pm, attendees will be able to tour available apartments and take advantage of some truly spectacular leasing specials! There will also be afternoon jams with DJ Berlin, outdoor games and opportunities to lounge in The Met’s new outdoor space. As afternoon shifts into evening, gather by the pool and enjoy the alt rock sounds of The Broken View at 6 p.m., the raw and resonant vocals of The Reverent Few’s frontwoman Paige DeChausse at 7:30 p.m. and stick around for Jane Leo’s moody, retro guitar rock tracks at 9:30 p.m.

The activities/lounge area is an exciting addition to The Met’s already abundant list of amenities. These include an on-site stage for live shows, a resort-style pool, a clubhouse with a game room, a yoga room, 24-hour fitness center, a dog park and picnic area. It’s the perfect spot to kick off the summer season, so if you’re looking for new living arrangements and ready to have some summer fun, be sure to RSVP to this exciting event where you’ll get to check out some of the best living spaces in Austin. Their wide range of floor plans from studios to five-bedroom units make it so that a group of any size wanting to live (and play!) together can easily make The Met their new home.

What a home it is, too! Immediately recognizable due to the complex’s sprawling layout, colorful buildings and vibrant murals, The Met fosters a collaborative and inspiring atmosphere where creativity thrives.

That’s not all! Within the apartments are modern, in-home features like Nest thermostats and luxury vinyl flooring. Select units even have whirlpool jets and washer/dryer hookups. It’s the perfect setup for your next summer hang.

But don’t feel confined to your own apartment: The Met has a built-in creative community and frequently hosts local fundraisers like HAAM Benefit Day, as well as community events like their annual weekend-long mini-festival Metropalooza, karaoke nights, drag brunches, movie nights, social hours and jam nights.

Those jam nights are a big part of what makes The Met so special, as they actively support the city’s arts. Residents are welcome to practice in their units from 12pm until 10pm, and they can show off their massive talent in the complex’s clubhouse or pool deck, which are available for live performances. With this, The Met continues its tradition of discovering up-and-coming artists, like the Austin Music Award-winning metal trio Rickshaw Billie’s Burger Patrol, who got their start while living at The Met.

Located in Southeast Austin just off of Riverside Dr., The Metropolis Apartments give you easy access to both the heart of downtown and some of the best local music venues, studios and cultural hotspots like Emo’s, Come and Take It Live and The Buzz Mill.

Don’t have a car? Don’t worry! Public transportation is also easily accessible from The Met, and grocery shopping is made easy with an HEB Plus that’s walking distance from the complex!

The Metropolis Apartments is owned by a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing affordable homes and an inclusive, artistic hub for creatives.
